Scrub Bunnies Terms of Service Ver 1.00

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to Scrub Bunnies Ltd and its website and related services. Scrub Bunnies Ltd may trade as, be known as, or be referenced as “Scrub Bunnies”, “scrubbunnies.com”, “ScrubBunnies”, or any other related name or domain. For the purposes of these Terms, all such references shall mean “Scrub Bunnies”.

IMPORTANT: Scrub Bunnies is a platform that introduces customers to independent third-party cleaners. We do not provide cleaning services, we do not employ cleaners, and we do not recommend, endorse, certify, guarantee, or vet any cleaner or any cleaning service listed on this site. By using Scrub Bunnies, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scrub Bunnies (the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms that may apply to specific features. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Definitions

“Customer” means a person or business seeking to hire cleaning services. “Cleaner” means any third-party individual or business offering cleaning services. “Booking” means any enquiry, arrangement, or engagement between a Customer and a Cleaner, whether made through the Platform or after an introduction on the Platform. “Content” includes any text, images, messages, listings, reviews, or other materials displayed on or submitted through the Platform.

3. Description of Service (Platform Only)

Scrub Bunnies operates solely as an online venue to introduce Customers and Cleaners. Scrub Bunnies does not perform cleaning services and is not a party to any agreement between a Customer and a Cleaner. Any contract for cleaning services is made directly between the Customer and the Cleaner on terms agreed between them.

4. No Recommendation, Endorsement, Vetting, or Guarantees

Scrub Bunnies does not recommend, endorse, verify, certify, guarantee, or make any representations about any Cleaner, including (without limitation) their identity, qualifications, licensing, insurance, right to work, DBS/background checks, references, availability, pricing, suitability, reliability, or the quality/safety/legality of their services. Any ratings, reviews, profile information, or other Content about Cleaners is provided by third parties and may be inaccurate or incomplete.

5. Independent Third Parties (No Employment / No Agency)

Cleaners are independent third parties and are not employees, workers, agents, partners, joint venturers, or representatives of Scrub Bunnies. Scrub Bunnies does not supervise, direct, or control Cleaners or the services they provide. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, agency relationship, or partnership between Scrub Bunnies and any Cleaner or Customer.

6. Customer Responsibility & Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge and agree that engaging a Cleaner is done entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for selecting, interviewing, verifying, and engaging a Cleaner, and for taking any precautions you consider necessary (including checking identity, references, insurance, qualifications, and conducting background checks where appropriate).

Scrub Bunnies is not responsible for any acts, omissions, conduct, negligence, misconduct, or disputes involving any Cleaner, Customer, or third party.

7. Background Checks and DBS

Unless explicitly stated by Scrub Bunnies in writing, Scrub Bunnies does not carry out DBS checks, background checks, identity verification, right-to-work checks, or reference checks on Cleaners. Any claims about checks on a Cleaner profile are made by the Cleaner and are not verified by Scrub Bunnies.

8. Bookings, Payments, Cancellations & Refunds

Pricing, scope of work, timing, access arrangements, supplies/equipment, and all other service terms are agreed directly between the Customer and the Cleaner. Unless we explicitly state otherwise, Scrub Bunnies does not process payments for cleaning services. Payment is made directly to the Cleaner under the terms you agree with them. At no point is any money paid to Scrub Bunnies to pay for cleaning services.

Cancellations, refunds, rescheduling, and no-show policies are set by the Cleaner (or agreed between the parties). Scrub Bunnies is not responsible for refunds, chargebacks, or payment disputes between Customers and Cleaners.

8A. Cleaner Membership Fees, Immediate Access, Cancellation Rights, and Refunds

Certain features of the Platform may be available only to Cleaners who pay a membership, subscription, listing, lead-access, or similar fee (“Cleaner Membership”). A Cleaner Membership is a payment for access to digital Platform features and opportunities, including (without limitation) the ability to create or maintain a profile, appear on the Platform, receive enquiries, view or respond to customer opportunities, communicate with potential customers, and otherwise access Platform functionality.

Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, all Cleaner Membership fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable. This is because, immediately upon activation, the Cleaner receives access to digital Platform features and potential customer opportunities which are capable of being used straight away. Access to such features and opportunities constitutes valuable digital access supplied immediately on sign-up.

If you purchase a Cleaner Membership as a consumer, you expressly request and consent to us supplying the Cleaner Membership and related digital services/content immediately, before the end of any applicable cancellation period. You also acknowledge and agree that once such immediate digital access begins, you lose any statutory right to cancel to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you purchase a Cleaner Membership and are acting wholly or mainly for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft, or profession, you agree that you are not purchasing as a consumer, and any consumer cancellation rights (including any statutory cooling-off rights) do not apply.

For the avoidance of doubt, once a Cleaner Membership has been activated or access to customer enquiries, leads, messaging, profile visibility, or other paid Platform features has been made available, no refund, credit, or partial refund will be given for change of mind, failure to secure work, lack of use, cancellation by the Cleaner, or deletion of the Cleaner’s account, except where required by applicable law.

Nothing in this section limits or excludes any rights that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under applicable law.

9. Platform Messaging, Safety, and Off-Platform Dealings

Scrub Bunnies may provide messaging, enquiry, or other tools to help Customers and Cleaners communicate. For your safety and for record-keeping, we strongly recommend you keep all communications on the Platform.

If you choose to communicate, contract, book outside the Platform (including by phone, SMS, WhatsApp, email, or any other method), you do so entirely at your own risk. Scrub Bunnies is not responsible for any loss, dispute, fraud, damage, or other issue arising from off-platform dealings, and we may be unable to assist if communications occur outside the Platform.

You must not misuse Platform messaging, including by sending unlawful, abusive, misleading, or inappropriate messages, or by attempting to harvest personal data. We may monitor and review communications where permitted by law and may remove Content or restrict access to protect users and the Platform.

10. Customer Precautions

Customers should take reasonable precautions when inviting any third party into their home or premises, including securing valuables, providing safe access, disclosing hazards, and ensuring pets are controlled where appropriate.

11. Insurance

Scrub Bunnies does not provide insurance coverage for any Booking, Cleaner, Customer, property, or services arranged through the Platform. Any insurance (including public liability, professional indemnity, or employer’s liability where applicable) is the sole responsibility of the Cleaner and/or the Customer.

Customers are responsible for confirming whether a Cleaner holds appropriate insurance and for deciding whether that insurance is adequate for the work being performed. Any statements about insurance on a Cleaner profile are made by the Cleaner and are not verified by Scrub Bunnies.

12. Damage, Loss, Theft, Injury, and Disputes

Scrub Bunnies accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, theft, personal injury, property damage, service failure, late arrival, non-attendance, poor workmanship, or any other issue arising from or relating to a Cleaner’s services or a Customer’s conduct. Any claims or disputes must be resolved directly between the Customer and the Cleaner.

Scrub Bunnies has no obligation to mediate, investigate, or resolve disputes, though we may do so at our discretion.

13. User Accounts & Accurate Information

To use certain features, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we believe are being misused or contain false or misleading information.

14. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the Platform for lawful purposes only and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for your interactions with Cleaners and other users.

15. Prohibited Conduct

You must not use the Platform to: (a) break any law; (b) harass, threaten, or discriminate; (c) post false, misleading, or defamatory content; (d) attempt to circumvent the Platform’s security; (e) scrape or copy data without permission; (f) upload viruses or malicious code; (g) impersonate others; or (h) interfere with the Platform’s operation.

16. Reviews, Content & Communications

Users may submit reviews, messages, and other Content. You are responsible for Content you post and you warrant it is accurate (where stated as fact) and lawful. You grant Scrub Bunnies a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, display, and distribute your Content for operating, improving, and promoting the Platform.

We may remove Content at our discretion, but we are not required to monitor or verify Content.

17. Listings, Reviews, and Our Right to Remove Content

We may (but have no obligation to) review, moderate, remove, hide, or edit any listing, profile, review, message, or other Content at any time, with or without notice, including where we believe it: (a) breaches these Terms; (b) is misleading or untrue; (c) is unlawful or infringes rights; (d) creates risk or harm; (e) is abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate; or (f) harms the integrity or reputation of the Platform.

We may also suspend or terminate any account, restrict visibility of a listing, or block communications to protect users or the Platform. We are not liable for any loss of business, revenue, or opportunity resulting from such actions.

18. Complaints, Safety Concerns, and Reporting

If you have a complaint, safety concern, or suspect fraud, you should report it to us as soon as possible using our contact details. We may request information to review the matter. You agree to cooperate and provide accurate information.

Scrub Bunnies is not a law enforcement agency and does not guarantee outcomes of investigations or complaints. Where appropriate, you should also contact the police, emergency services, your insurer, your bank/payment provider, or other relevant authorities.

19. Intellectual Property

The Platform and its content (excluding user-generated Content) are owned by Scrub Bunnies or its licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

20. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy .

21. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scrub Bunnies disclaims all warranties and conditions, whether express or implied, including fitness for purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the availability of Cleaners, the outcome of any Booking, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

22. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scrub Bunnies will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform or any Booking.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scrub Bunnies’ total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Platform or these Terms (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise) will not exceed the total amount you paid to Scrub Bunnies for use of the Platform in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim (or £0 if you paid nothing).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that UK law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

23. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scrub Bunnies, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your Content; (c) your breach of these Terms; or (d) any Booking or dispute between you and another user (including a Cleaner or Customer).

24. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, created risk for other users, or misused the Platform. We may also discontinue or change any part of the Platform at any time.

25. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. Scrub Bunnies is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.

26. Force Majeure

Scrub Bunnies will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform, or any interruption or unavailability of the Platform, where caused by events beyond our reasonable control. This includes (without limitation) acts of God, flood, fire, earthquake, extreme weather, epidemic/pandemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes or labour disputes, power or internet outages, third-party service failures, cyberattacks, and government actions.

27. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will apply from the date they are posted on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform means you accept the updated Terms.

28. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer laws provide you with rights to bring claims in your country of residence.

29. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
